Title: DIXON, Cleta Nadine (Jackman) - b. November 30, 1929 - d. August 31, 2017

Cleta Nadine Dixon, age 88, died August 31, 2017 at Neodesha Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neodesha, Kansas surrounded by her family.  She was born November 30, 1929 in Vinita, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ray and Martha (Akers) Jackman. 

After high school graduation, Cleta went on to become a licensed practical nurse caring for people in their homes and also caring for the first iron lung patient at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.  On November 29, 1969, she married Don Dixon in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  Cleta became a member of the Severy Baptist Church of Severy, Kansas in 1992 where she was a faithful and active member.  She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and took many classes at the Needle in the Haystack in Severy.  She also loved to do ceramics.  Her husband Don described her as a very loving mother and caregiver and that she had her hands full keeping him in track.  She will be greatly missed in their home.

Cleta is survived by her husband, Don of the home; son, Kevin (Bonnie) Bunch of Haysville, Kansas; stepsons, Donald Dixon, Dean Dixon, Dennis (Darcy) Dixon, all of Wichita, Kansas, and David (Teresa) Dixon of Seattle, Washington; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lee Bunch; brothers, Ray Jackman, Guy Jackman, and George Jackman; and sisters, Evelyn Williams, Alice DeMott, and Cecila Weller.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Severy Baptist Church in Severy, Kansas with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating.,  Interment will follow at the South Lawn Cemetery in Severy.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Memorials have been suggested to the Severy Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
