I just wanted to tell everyone the exciting news! Howard, Severy, and Moline now have Girl Scout Troops. The Daisies and Brownies and the younger girls from Kindergarten through 3rd grade and meet in Severy at the Grade School twice a month. Juniors and Cadetts meet in Howard twice a month. They are grades 4 through 8. This is a wonderful opportunity for the girls in this area to enjoy fun learning experiences that promote their growth in many ways. Christy Johnson of Severy is Daisy leader, Beth Jones of Severy is the Brownie leader, and Teresa Usry of Howard is Junior leader and the Cadett leader is Angie Town of Howard. The troops are busy all ready this year. We just had our annual candy and nuts sale, and in January will begin the annual cookie sales. Girl Scouts are a wonderful organization. Thanks for supporting these troops!!!

What great news for the area! Girl Scouts is a wonderful organization which provides so many opportunities for girls during their young years. Thanks to all those who have volunteered their time and efforts to get this group started. I worked with Cub Scouts for many years and know the dedication and time the leadership takes.

I was a Brownie Scout leader while we lived in Pittsburg, KS. Teresa and Sherri both enjoyed their time in that, then when we moved to Howard in 1963, we were sad to learn there were no troops here.
I am excited for the girls to have the opportunity to join this wonderful organization.
