How neat~~~~~Thanks Flo --- It seems that more and more I enjoy things from my earlier years a lot.  Do you suppose there is a message in that kind of enjoyment?    DUH ?

Autographs books were soooooooooo much fun.

I can spend hours and hours going through boxes of "memories".  There are things you remember for a lifetime and things that you look at and think "oh, I had forgotten that" and you smile as you remember those things also.  Maybe age does have something to do with it, I don't know.

My Dad was one of 13 children.  They are all deceased but one sister, Aunt Ruth Ball.  She lives in Oregon and Marvin and I stopped to see her on our jaunt to the NW a few years ago.  I had not seen her in over 20 years so we had a wonderful visit.  She has just turned 95 yrs. old and is living in an assisted living facility now, but her mind is still good and she crochets hundreds of stocking caps a year to give to the homeless and has done this for several years.  She wrote in my book:

Dear Florene

When evening draws it's curtain
and pins it with a star
Remember I am your friend
No Matter where you are

Love, Aunt Ruth

I found my mother's autograph book and the first one was written by one of her Aunts and was dated December 25, 1935.

In your chain of friendship consider me a link.

From her best friend from about the second grade until she passed away just a few years ago, dated December 30, 1935

I thought this one was cute

They strolled down the lane together,
Above them, shone the stars,
They reached the gate in silence
He lifted for her the bars,
She neither smiled or thanked him,
For she did not know how,
For he was just a farmer's lad
And she was a Jersey Cow
