Slice the okra very thin(slimey but just wait) Crack an egg into it,lightly toss it together.  Crush soda crackers about an equal amount, toss with the egg and okra Add to skillet of hot bacon fat(or oil) turn often and if okra is kinda old(hard) steam some.  My Husband's family eats itt this way and It is good  I always used cornmeal before.

Thankswhizkid238. I guess I'll break down and try to fix some for Marty after all, this looks pretty easy.

Joanna, I add chopped onion to my okra when I fix it like whizkid mentioned.  Go to recipes and look at okra patties.  I prefer to use cooked (boiled okra) when I fix it with egg and cracker crumbs.  If I fry it, I like to slice it and bread it with a mix of flour and cornmeal.  Each to his own, just thought I would mention what we like.
