OMGoodness!! You would have to doze just about the entire county!! LOL! I seriously doubt there is not one structure that would not be found without a violation of some sort, either wiring, plumbing, insulation, building code, etc. Structures built too close together with odd sort of venting etc, etc, etc!
I personally don't want any more county people roaming around my place; taxes went up $250.00 last year. I think they are trying to drive out the people who brought back the crumbling houses in this county by taxing them to death. A couple of years ago, we made a small addition onto the back yard shed; I witnessed the appraiser (by accident), come to a screeching halt in front of our house, dash to the back of his car and grab a camera from the trunk. It suddenly dawned on me who he was; he ran to the back of our property to photograph the new addition; as a result of our attempts to make this place a home, our taxes have doubled in eight years. Hardly fair IMHO! This place was ready for the dozer when Ted restored it to its' present state. We are trying to keep it up, but aren't getting any encouragement from the county for sure.
The county does not have enough skilled workmen to do the needed repairs and certainly does not have the skilled inspectors.
Yet.
Where do you start. If not now then when. Just because we have never done it right before why can't we start on the right foot tomorrow?
