Pilcher-Bell (1921)

On Sunday afternoon, April third at two o'clock, Grace E., eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pilcher, was given in marriage to Mr. Lloyd W. Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bell.

The wedding took place at the Methodist parsonage at Howard, Kansas, in the presence of a few relatives and friends. The pastor, the Rev. J. R. Creamer, spoke the words that made the happy couple husband and wife. The ring ceremony was used.

The bride, one of Elk county's popular young school teachers has just finished a successful year at Cave Springs. She has grown to womanhood on the old home place and her friends are numbered by her acquaintances. Her charming qualities bespeak a companion and helpmeet of a high order.

Mr. Bell is a young farmer of sterling worth and is well and favorably known in the Antioch neighborhood where he has grown to manhood.

The bridal pair were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pilcher, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bell and children, Chester and Elizabeth Pilcher, Harold Taylor and Ilah Jay.

The bride was gowned in blue silk with hat of braid trimmed with velvet ribbons. The groom wore a business suit.

Immediately after the ceremony they left for Anderson county for a week's trip. Afterward they will be at home with Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bell where they will make their home for the present.
