Joe Wayne Perrigo, born June 23, 1943 in Independence, Kansas, passed away November 11, 2019 due to medical complications at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas.  He was the son of Fearol (Jolly) and Fred Perrigo.

Joe was a graduate of Grenola Rural High School in Grenola, Kansas and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.  He had a Bachelor's Degree in Speech  He earned his Master of Divinity degree from St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri and was admitted into the Doctor of Ministry Program at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.  Joe served several churches across the United States, starting his pastoral career in Kansas at Bentley Methodist Church.  During his ministerial years, much of Joe's focus was in the deaf community.

An accomplished, self-taught musician, Joe could play a variety of instruments including banjo, piano, organ, harmonica, dulcimer, and trumpet.  He also enjoyed painting and researching his family's genealogy.  Joe spent his later years in Winfield, Kansas serving his community, especially focusing on people in need.

Joe is survived by his adopted son, Roy Perrigo and wife, Connie; brothers, Jack Perrigo and wife, Judy and Jim Perrigo and companion, Fred; two nephews, Brian Perrigo and Brant Perrigo and wife, Michelle; and niece, Kristy and husband, Wade; and many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Fearol (Jolly) Perrigo and father, Fred Perrigo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue, Winfield, Kansas.  Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winfield Food Pantry.  Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
