Carla Lee Lackey, 69, of Howard, Kansas, passed away on April 15, 2019 at the Eureka Nursing Home in Eureka, Kansas.  She was born on February 8, 1950 in Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Darrel Ray and Donna L. (Thomas) Brillhart.

After high school, Carl began working in the aircraft assembly industry.  She worked for all of the large companies, such as Boeing, Beech, and Cessna.  She loved to go fishing and really enjoyed reading whenever she could.  Carla fought a long, hard battle with cancer over the past few months.  On May 25, 1994, Carla married Earnest J. Lackey in Miami, Oklahoma.  Carla and Earnest made their home near Howard, Kansas.

Including her husband, Earnest, Carla is survived by her son, Gary Crum of Augusta, Kansas; stepdaughters, Lisa Leslie of Haysville, Kansas and Laura Keiter of Andover, Kansas; her mother, Donna L. Brillhart of Wichita, Kansas; her brother, Henry Brillhart of Wichita, Kansas; her sister, Carrol Wingate of Cambridge, Kansas; and four grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Cremation has been requested, and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Memorials hve been suggested to the Good Shepherd Hospice and may be left with or mailed to the funerl home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to the Countryside Funeral Home, P.O.
