Ramona Jean Robert, long-time resident of Severy, Kansas, passed way April 25, 2018 in Sterling, Colorado.  She was born on September 5, 1933.

Ramona lived her childhood years in Monroe, Louisiana and her early adult life in Texas, Montana, and eventually Kansas City, Missouri where she met her future husband, Elwin Robert.  Ramona and Elwin married at St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene on November 25, 1960, and they established their home on the family farm in Severy, Kansas.  They were married for 50 years and raised three children, Jim, Cindy, and Rhonda.

Ramona's favorite childhood memories were swimming in rivers of rural Louisiana with her family of three brothers and two sisters under the watchful eyes of loving parents, V.B. Hicks and Rachael Hicks of Monroe, Louisiana.,

Ramona was known for her passionate love of children and also for her exceptional skill of making elaborately decorated cakes for all occasions.  She baked hundreds of cakes over the years with most children in the community of Severy receiving a custom cake prepared and designed by Ramona.

Ramona was an active member of the Severy Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years.  She was a bookkeeper working for the Severy State Bank, Greenwood County Courthouse, and the Severy Co-op.

Survivors include her three children, Jim Robert and his domestic partner, Stephen Dahlem of Dallas, Texas, Cindy Welsh and her husband, Joel of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Rhonda Couchenour and her husband, Bill and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Will of Sterling, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Severy Nazarene Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, Kansas.  Memorials are suggested to the Nazarene Children's Youth Group and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
