Howard Courant
May 19, 1927

Miss Mable Spunaugle of Howard and Vern D. Cox of Fredonia were united in marriage Saturday evening at 8:15 by the probate judge of Elk County at his office in Howard.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Spunaugle of Howard and attended the Howard schools.  Mr. Cox is the only son of Mrs. Dave Cox of Fredonia and has been a resident of Fredonia for several years, attending the schools here.  At present he is employed by the contractors who are building the two new bridges in this county.  Mr. and Mrs. Cox will make their home in Fredonia, for a time at least, at 433 Washington St., and his many freindss here extend their congratulations and best wishes to him and his bride.  They were accompanied to Fredonia Sunday by Mrs. Cox's brother, Paul Spunaugle and wife of Howard, who were guests at a dinner given Sunday evening by Mrs. George Wallace, sister of the bridegroom.  The pink and white color scheme was carried throughout the dinner.  The guests present at the dinner were Mrs. Dave Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Spunaugle, Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Sell and children, Mr. and Mrs. James Spohn and son, Mr. and Mrs. George Wallace and children, Darline Agosta, Joe and Leslie Blackmore.----Fredonia Daily Herald.
