2 guns
« on: May 11, 2006, 07:24:27 PM »
Thanks all, and especially to Slim for fixing my post.

And since Virginny is 1 gun a month law, and there are 2 people in this house, we can buy 2 guns a month. ;D

Let's get it straight....

Virginia is one HANDGUN per person per month, UNLESS... you have a CCW, then you can buy more than ONE HANDGUN per month.

You can buy more than one long gun or shotgun per month.

Well since you started a new topic, we can take it so far off track that you'll never re-con-ize it. ;D

Any takers? ;D

Also you can request a waver for a month for example if you want to buy a matching pair like I did when I bought my Ruger Bisleys.  It's just a major pain cause you have to go to the State Police Office to get the form, then fill it out and wait for approval, then you have to give a copy of the approval to the Gun Store.

You know what makes it so bad, Is some of us can remember the time when you walked into a shop bought a gun and never had to fill out anything. could have bought as many as you had the money for.

I kin remember and I ain't that old, wasn't old enough to buy one myself, but remeber going with Dad.  1968 was the end of the era.  To bad we don't require background checks for cars and likker.  More crimes involve cars and likker than guns.

first shotgun I got was through the mail in 1957, 20 ga savage  single shot, from sears.  still remember the morning it came, the mail carrier drove out to the house, got out and waited for me to go in the house and get some shells, we set up a couple of cans and both shot it.  I was 7 years old. did a lot of hunting with it through the years, my son shot with it when he was old enough. still got it in the gun safe.

First gun I owned was ordered through Ace hardware, when I was working for this Mom & Pop hardware back around 69-70..  It was a High Standard .22 with interchangeable barrels.  Wish I still had it, but sold it to pay for flying lessons.

Back in 1974 I ordered a Stevens 311 from JC Penny's in downtown Lincoln.  Was just 18, went down signed the 5744 form, took the box under my are, with the description on it, went up the elavator at the parking garage and took it home, could do the same today if Penny's sold them and was still downtown.
