2006 Hell On Wheels----WHO'S A-GOIN'????

Any Pards headed out for HOW at Cheyenne?

The Cheyenne Regulators put on one hell of a SASS Regional Shoot.
Their stages are really great.  And the props & buildin's are top notch, too.

We've missed only one HOW in 5 years.  An' I'm sendin' our entrys in tonight.

BTW:  We are lookin' for any Pards who dress military (or GAF troops) who would like to join in on the openin' ceremonies.  We will be havin' a Color Guard complete with shooters dressed in Span Am War, Civil War, Marine, Indian War, Scout, etc uniforms.

Gregg - I won't be able to make the match this year, but I am interested (even concerned) in the opening ceremonies and the GAF color guard.  I have been appointed commander of the Dept of the Platte and I'm thinking I ought to attend the opening even though I can't make the match.  It is not my intent to co-opt anything you have going, but if I can in any way help you to be more successful I'm all over it.  If you care to e-mail me at:  akbullen2001@yahoo.com  I'd be pleased to help out.

Howdy, Gregg,
I am planning to attend.  Right now, for a number of reasons (daughter is "expecting" around mid-July, and I don't want to have to pack up in a tearing rush if the baby is early!), I am probably not going to shoot, but expect to participate in the GAF colorguard.  Do you know if we are going to do that? If so, what about the flag sockets, etc? Bought myself an officer's dress saber, so I won't have to borrow one this year!

Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Trailrider,

Mustang Gregg and Calamity, Ma'am --

I'm plannin' on goin' for the first time.  Gonna be campin' with my pard, Curly.

Ain't sent in the registration yet -- hope it ain't too late.

Heard great things about HOW for many moons now.  Gonna do 'er this year, I reckon.  Is the end of May too late to register?

I do know that the wind blows a bit in Wyomin'.  Hell, I was in Rawlins one time in a wind storm.  That ol' wind was blowin' so hard that I saw a chicken lay the same egg twice!  Haw!

Hope to see all y'all there.

Gregg,
We'll be there! This will be our 9th HOW--only missed the very first one. Received our confirmation a month ago and we were shooters #123 and 124. This is one match we won't miss. For us eastern Nebraska people it's 8 hours out and 8 hours back; with the 4th of July holiday thrown in, it doesn't use up a lot of vacation days. We'll see you there and maybe sooner at a match closer to home.

Pinto Being - HOW is limited to 432 shooters and they always fill up. Wouldn't wait any longer than necessary to send your registration in.

Terry, mi amigo.  HOW is a shoot that I've been wantin' to go to forever.  And -- to be able to meet up with you and Restless Rose, and all the other pards here is gonna make it mighty memorable, indeed.

Curry that fancy beard, ol' hoss.  We're goin' to Cheyenne!

This is what this sport is all about, eh?

This is posted in the Barracks, but I figure it won't hurt to post the news here in the Longbranch also...

Mustang Gregg and I had a good conversation the other evening and we agreed that, in the interest of alignment of function and department, I should assume the command function for the HOW Color Guard.  Since I am the "new boy on the block" where this function is concerned, I ask that all who have been involved in past years and/or are planning to participate this year (2006) please get in touch with me - I'll be needing everybodys help.  Although I will be unable to participate in the match this year, I am planning on being in attendance for the opening ceremonies and the GAF muster.  I do have a few names (thanks Gregg) and I will be trying to get in touch with folks.  In the meantime I can be reached through this forum (I check every day) or by telephone at 970-824-8407, or by e-mail at:  akbullen2001@yahoo.com .  Many thanks, and looking forward to getting together with you all.  Sagebrush Burns, Department of the Platte, Commanding.
