rugers need action jobs?
« on: April 27, 2006, 07:40:00 PM »
I thought i heard the action job for the new vaquero consists of takin off the grips...spraying it down with some gun scrubber...put the grips back on and dry fire it about one thousand times while watching the news...take the grips back off and spraying it down again...put the grips back on and it is good to go...is this correct?

Dunno 'bout all that.   ??? ???
Most RATS just shoot 'em with live ammo & forget the dry fire, I'm told.  ;D
Some put Wolff springs in.  Most don't.
I dunno how a "slicked-up" one would feel.

The more ya work 'em. the better they get.

Reckon I'd put snap caps or cushioned cartridges in afore I dry fired 1000 times, though.

i think snap caps are a good idea.. just to be safe.  i think they have titanium firing pins, but why take a chance.  thanks for takin the time to answer my question , mr. gregg.  appreciate it. :)  umm rugers are my favorite firearms, so can i be a rat too?  i have a ruger redhawk in .44 mag too, and a 1976 bicentenial .44 mag carbine.  it really spits em out!  :D
