Could some one tell me the material, type of glue, and correct procedure for puting a lever wrap on ?

Some people use rawhide and wrap the lever with that. I prefer latigo because it's softer. Latigo is just a very soft leather like a garment leather. Cut a strip and wrap it tightly around the lever and then tie it off when you get to the end. You don't need glue.

I cut a strip of soft leather that goes into the lever lengthwise from the inside and wraps around to the bottom. I then stitch a seam on the outside (bottom) of the lever from front to rear. This leaves the inside of the lever smooth and easy on the kuckles.

Glad I didn't suggest cat pelts........................

Sweettooth, throw in with the latigo leather. I've had two layers wound up on mine for I can't remember how long. The stuff has been smacked by the back of my fingers so many times it has grooves in it. All you have to do when it loosens is retie it. For my two cents it's as good as it gets.

I suspect cat would cause ya ta sneeze if ya sniffed it ennyways....................

I compromise and wrap my levers with cat tongues. If you run short, Miss Camille has some cats running around her place. It's the best use for cats I've found since it became unpopular to eat them.

When I was about 6 years old I shot a big ol' boy with a BB gun for threatening to throw one of my cats on the highway. I have real guns now........

Thanks for the replys but now I have to reread them I was laughing so hard . All I seem to rember is cats and dont sniff them.

I Quite agree, Real Men Don' T Use Wraps. Never have seen them on Origanals, never used them on the Ranch.

Well I followed directions as best I could rember them . But it took almost 5 cat tongues to make a wrap and now Im so scratched up I cant hold the rifle . My wife suggested I use Latigo but I told her she doesnt know anything about shooting Latigo would make me sneeze . Guess I should have used the oak bark.
