Heard it was a little windy up to Innisfail.  Hope all you pards down under, and all your folks, are faring well.

It's pretty bad up that way,a lot of damage to the towns around that area all their crops a gone,haven't heard about loss of life.

Us Aussies are pretty strong people.With a lot of help they will get back on their feet.

Thanks for your thoughts re" Larry"and that's way up north from us here in Sydney but from what we've seen on TV as DD said a lot of damage and huge crop losses but fortunately no loss of life.
They say that Larry struck with more force than your one" Katrina" that did all the damage in the southern states of the US and I find that hard to believe.
Your area down there has a huge population compared to the Innisvale district and your problems  were brought about by the sea wall collapse I think, and they don't have that problem up there.

That's what I read also.  Katrina was only a Cat 3 storm when it made landfall.

That's correct.  I believe there's a book that teaches that we shouldn't build our houses on shifting sand... likewise, living below sea level doesn't seem like a good idea... especially when you live by the sea.
