Trap, Griz & all,
My wife and I are planning on coming to your shoot in may. Since she is coming, we will have to stay in a motel because of her physical limitations. I pulled the inforomation on your shoot off of the NCOWS site, but it doesn't have an application, fee information, or directions....& where is the nearest motel located....How many rounds of ammo? etc; & should I bring my guitar--- Huh, yes I can play.....

OCB;

For more information, go to the NCOWS website.  You can download a list of motels and such in the area.  It also has a map to the camp.

I don't figure many Old West folks filled out forms.  If you want to pre-pay, just write me a letter and let me know how many are shootin' and eatin'.  It'll be $40 for the first shooter, and $20 for additional family members.

It says in the flier that ammo requirements may vary according to the shooters ability.  Bring Plenty!

And absolutely bring your guitar!

Lookin' forward to seeing you there!

OCB,

Seem that there is a lot of that going around lately! Grin Roll Eyes

We had a work day today at Griz's house.  We built 2 48 infch round poker tables and 4 loading/unloading tables for the shoot!

By all means, bring your guitar.  You can use it in the talent competition.  The only key that I sing in is "off" but I don't sing real loud and have a lot of fun.

We have a large marquee that we set up and that will give your wife a place to sit which is out of the wind!  That can be important some times in Kansas.

I'm real glad that you are going to come.  I think that you will enjoy the devious way that Griz puts on a shoot!! Roll Eyes Shocked Grin Shocked Roll Eyes

Bill,

I think you will like it.  The weather in Kansas in May is GENERALLY pleasant.  Definately bring the guitar...I don't think I will be able to get down until Friday night as my wife has a certification class on Friday and I will be watching the kids....

Matt,
We plan on getting there thursday evening....I'm really looking forward to it. Then we turn around and on May 19-21, we head to Winchester Virginia for the North & South Skirmish Ass. shoot, we're gonna try to hook up with US Scout that weekend.
I don't know if you've been following the thread on the GAF forum, but they have expressed a great interest in NCOWS, and in particulary the Originals class. The Naitonal Secratary (spell?), Norma Coates, invited my wife and I to their get-together to see it in action...They have close to 5000 potential NCOWS members & GAF recruits, I'll be on my best behavior. Well,

For NCOWS to make SERIOUS inroads with the NSSA, I think we would have to change our date of origin to 1860.  That would go a long way.  I believe I talked to Irish Dave and Joss Hoss about that....But, thanks for the update.

Bill,

I would be honored and pleased to help represent NCOWS, as well as GAF, at the NSSA Nationals in May.  Since many of the NSSA attendees are from the Mid-Atlantic, the prospect of actually getting a local NCOWS posse into existance is encouraging.  Let me know what I can do...

Major Matt,
you're reading my mind, I've already sent a proposal in to do just that...1860-1899

Since this is my thread, I think it is OK to continue to high-jack it. Grin Grin

Bill,
That would be great, & looking forward to meeting up with you in VA. Norma Coates has volunteered to hand out our infomation to the members of her organizatoin for us. she sets up a informational booth and has agreed to do it. Norma is really enthused about the prospect of joining NCOWS, her husband Earl Coates is the commander of the NSSA.

She has also given me a list of 52 other civil war groups that has a estimated combined membership total of over 50,000 paying members. I'm in the process as we speak (type) of putting a form letter together to send them.

Well, great. Choice 1: Go to New Market, do the Provost Guard thing, arrest skulkers and take charge of Reb prisoners, probably get wet, sleep in mud, and have a great time (unless my tank of a Ford gets stuck again), or Choice 2: Go to Ft. Shenandoah, see the N-SSA shoot, meet Bill Proctor, and have a great time. Oh, jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze...

Bill, I for one would be delighted to have you, and every other NCOWS member, join us in the GAF.

Frenchie,
It would be great to meet you!! Between you, I, and US Scout we would almost have enough for an NCOWS skirmish team (I believe eight is the minimum requirement).

OCB and all,
I can say this much you will have a great time at the KCVC shoot. It is unlike any other shoot and one of the most fun shoots as it offers other things to do other than just shoot. By the way are you studying for the test? I myself am worried about the preformance deal. I willl be working on this.
Will be great to see  you and your wife.

I just realized this shoot is the same as the three day Border Skirmsih in Higginsville, MO. I usually sit up my business that weekend. Now I am going to have to do some thinking which one to do. I would really like to do this one so I can meet new pards.

Pappy,
I can't tell you how much business you'll do at the 2-gun shoot.....

But, I can tell you you will do things you have never done before!
