Department of the Missouri: New Commander needed
« on: March 09, 2006, 07:21:22 PM »
Bvt Col Cheyenne has requested relief from his duties as Commander of the Department of the Missouri.

I solicite applications from any member of that Department for the position.

I expect the Department to put on at least one GAF event (mini-Muster, living history program, social, etc) during the forthcoming year.  What kind of event you put on, as well as how many events and where, is totally up to you and the members of your Department.  Bvt Col Bull Schmidt of the Department of the Atlantic is setting the standard for everyone, and I would hope someone in the Department of the Missouri would want to not only meet that standard but even to exceed it.

Please let me know what YOU can do to move the Department of the Missouri ahead and to promote the GAF within the Department.

Thanks Major Matt.  Got it.

I'm going to wait a few days to see who else throws their hat into the ring.  I have other positions that need filling as well, so you won't go wanting if you're interested in a leadership position.

Howdy,
I'd be glad to help in some way with the Dept of Missouri.
My primary interest is not in military history, but do enjoy it.  I think the military presence in the West is important, perhaps more important than many think.

If time and such permits, I'll be glad to facilitate an event at one of our local ranges.
Adios,

Thank you for being you.. Annie Lee!

Thanks for the recomendation Major Matt, but with this new job as NCOWS Secretary I don't know if I could do the GAF justice in a leadership role. However I will always be ready to assist in any way that time permits.

Quick Fire, River City John and others -

I will make my selection for the new Department Commander from volunteers, not nominees.  I won't dragoon anyone as the GAF needs people who have the time and energy to devote to being an active Dept Commander.

I thank all those who have volunteered.  Once I believe that no new volunteers will be stepping forward, I will make my decision.  This may take a few days to give those who read the forum a chance to check in - I know that some can't do so everyday.

General Scout, et. al.

I have the honor to report that having not yet become accustom to posting here since the demise of TFS I was unaware that Col. Cheyenne had resigned his commission. I will continue to act as the Chief of Staff  untill the new Department Commander is assigned, and will work to make the command transition a smooth one. Since the Chief of Staff position is an assigned one, I will chearfully step aside once the new commander is assigned and will serve the Departemnt in any capacity that I might be needed.
