 Thanks for answering alll my other questions . Now one about sights
  What rifle sights are legal for ssass shooting ? Do they have to be mounted on the stock?.
   A reciever mounted vernier would be nice but is it legal ?
   I have a marlin cbc and a Taurus thunderbolt

If you're talking main match, barrel mounted or tang mounted. No receiver sights. Barrels mounts encompass the low square ones, semi-buck horns and full buckhorns. Tangs are the Lyman or Marbles.
 For side matches, still no receiver sights. Barrel mounts including the ladder types and tang sights..........Buck
