More Cowboy Bad News...
« on: January 18, 2006, 07:48:28 PM »

From Michael Bane's Blog:

...and it's not about Brokeback Mountain.

My little cherubs and seraphim tell me that the Winchester 94 isn't the only cowboy gun getting ready to vanish. The cherubs orbiting around Marlin tell me that the Cowboy Competition .38 Special rifle, which was designed specifically for cowboy action shooting competition with input from COWBOYS host Richard "Tequlia" Young, will be taking the Long Sleep. Lack of sales.

Dag nab it, dang hang it!  What's the world comin' to?  Altho I prefer my 1866 or 1892 fer Cowboy shootin, I'v had perhaps half a dozen Marlins/Glenfields over the years and they've ALL been solid performers! (I still own 2; a Golden 39A Mountie and I fergit the model #, a mod. 60 I think, but it's one of the .22 semi-autos)  And I started this CAS thing with a 44 Mag '94 Trapper which was a great gun and tons-O-fun!

I believe it was the price as opposed to the standard CB, the "FACTORY" tuneing wasn't worth the extra bucks. Wasn't that much difference between the two. There was also a .45Colt one as well. I have one in .38, it's a beautiful piece, but still had some work done on it...............Buck 8) ::) ;)

Folks figured out how to make a 66 and 73 run faster than a Marlin and a whole lot of new sales went to Italy.

Does anyone really believe that the price of Marlin Cowboy's will increase with end of run ? If so, I got one available.
