Howdy......
We / I get ta communicate with a lot of folks on this forum (and others) Some you know and some you never see or know what they do in the real world.
Well......I done a lot of things, but for the last 32 years I have been in the heavy duty truck parts and repair business (18 wheelers & off road equipment) I have done it all (allmost) I have been the guy who sweeps the floor, pick up and deliver parts, issue parts to mechanics in the shop, sell parts to walk in customers, answer phones and figure out what the customer needs, parts dept. manager, mechanic (15 years) and shop forman.
I have been shootin sense I was 8 years old and cowboy shootin for about 5 years. I was born on July 29th, 1949....and will retire on July 29th, 2011.
I am a hippie from the sixty's, I still have a semi long beard and hair down to the middle of my back (I refuse to grow up!) I don't do no drugs......just drink beer and some 'Jack'
What about you..........

Good shootin......

Well, I'm a stay-at-home dad and a writer.  Written 2 CAS type books and a bunch of magazine articles.  Info on those is on my web site, along with a bunch of other good shootin tidbits.  http://www.jspublications.net

I'm gettin ready to write a novel now.  Been doing research.

I'm also a competitor.  I've been practicing a LOT for EOT and trying to chase down this kid that shoots here.  He's really fast!  I think he's got a shot at winning EOT.

As fur as "the real werld", this is it!

In the "pretend" werld (whar ya pretend ta be "normal"), I'z a designer in the engineering office of the Provincial Hydro-Electric utility. I'z wore many hats here in the Communications Department. I'z done the engineering fer installing many hunnerts of miles of underground fibre optic cable, I'z designed our own company-owned telephone system (more reliable than the public system ta keep the lights on), 'n' I'z spent the last half-dozen years gettin corporate LAN (data network) to the far-flung corners of this province. (Whal, thass what I do when I ain't surfin the CAS Boards ;) )

I work in the Aerospace industry, working with new materials and new manufacturing methods.  I'm the hands on person, not an engineer or designer.  I've seen a lot of changes over the last 25 years in this industry.  I work in the military not commercial end of it.

I'm 52, have 3 kids and 8 grandkids.  I grew up in the Arizona desert but some how ended up livin in the city.  I've been handling firearms since I was 12 years old. Did nine years in the Air Force in communications equip. repair, got out and worked as an electronics test tech 5 years then drifted into installing industrial air conditioning equipment for many years.  I'm am currently trying to re-enter the electronics production field.   I don't hunt much any more but still enjoy informal target shooting.  Got tired of driving way out into the desert, usually by myself,  to knock a few cans around with my pistols and rifles.  Just got turned on to CAS and, between the shootin and the comraderie,  it looks like the ticket for me.  I like a good joke and enjoy swappin one liners with another jokester ( in case you haven't noticed yet!)   ;D   ::  Will post a picture soon as I get my outfit together..... Let's see.  I am 59 years, 9 months and 1 day old.  Former Marine Vietnam Vet.  After I left Law School I went into construction until the recession hit.  Took a job in the University Power plant and worked up to shift supervisor.  After 23 years of working a rotating shift where we changed shifts every 9 days and having 1 weekend a month off.  I retired at 57 and became a substitute school teacher.  Then a guy who used to work for me needed a part time maintenance mechanic for 20 hours a week so I am helping him out back at the University.  The money I make there is all spending money :D.  So I have never had as much ready cash as I do now.

I have been married for nearly 37 years.  I have 2 grand children who lived with us until a year ago.

I have been shooting CAS since 1993 and was into buckskinning for 20 years before that.

I am a life member of NRA (Endowment) SASS and NCOWS.  I am an ambassador for all 3.

Well......, I' m 59 and truck driver as far as I recall, swallow miles a day, highways are no more my home I quit international 15 years ago, no more nights in a narrow sleeper, can spend each night ( even short ) between my own sheets, almost heaven  ;D, think hardly to get my retirement for the end of this year.

Married, no childrens, didn' t work.  ???
I' m living in the country, small village surrounded by woods and fields, quiet as it can be.

Have horses, try to ride them the more I can, western riding of course, Also try to promote CAS over here, but we gone need a miracle I guess, because most of the people I' ve talk about CAS think we are only kids who never grow up ,still playing cow-boys, and kids don' t have to play with guns.

Love to have couple of drinks with the few "real" Friends I have listening good old country tunes.
I like that place, is the Bar open?

I am 51, I work for a major aerospace company as a Remanufacturing Specialist (read CNC machinist on junky ol'airplane parts).

I was born and raised in the Akron, Ohio area until I joined the Navy when I was 17. I grew up watching all the westerns on TV with my Dad, so I have been a cowboy all of my life, and it was only right that I made my home in Arizona after being discharged from the Navy.

I've been married for going on 24 years and have two sons. Worked at Rawhide, Pinnicle Peak Patio, and Apacheland Movie Ranch as an actor, director, stuntman and manager during the years between 1974 and 1987. I actually lived on the property while I was the entertainment director at Apacheland Movie Ranch.

I am a SAA specialist, having done action work on Colt SAAs and replicas since 1978. Learned alot of what I know from Bob "Arizona Thumber" James. He's the best! Like I said, I having been doing them since 1978, and Bob can still show me a trick or two.

I'm cowboy, and damn proud of it!

Military contractor.
Served 32 years in Infantry, Cavalry, Special Operations - even the MP's (I helped train the Slovaks for upcoming NATO Civil-Military Missions).
Not-quite-retired, as I still go and do some odd things.

I find it very interesting indeed to read the backgrounds of folks of common interest.

For me, it's been one hell of a ride.  Born in 1945 in the very remote cow country of northern Nevada I was brought up on a horse ranch.  Joined the Army for 10 years as a Special Forces soldier and was a One Zero for Project Delta in Viet Nam.  Got top travel to other strange places and make life unpleasant for the bad guys. Spent some 7 years in law enforcement with the LAPD, as a remote country horse-mounted Ranger and a drug agent on the Mexican border.  Got my degrees and finally retired from teaching as a professor of criminology and forensics in 2002.

Been teaching weaponscraft to spec ops and law enforcement for the past 30 some years and shot competitively for the Army for a couple of years.  Have ranges here at the ranch in New Mexico where I train horses and spend a lot of time on the road as a case consultant in forensics and use of force for citizens and police officers.  Never have a ranch bigger than your wife can run  ;D

I am not a committed CAS shooter as I get bored standing around, but do occasionally enjoy a match.  Have high hopes for this forum as the others all seem to degenerate into petty egos and a variety of cliques.  I enjoy no-holds barred discussions of issues of substance and can share a drink with folks that  disagree with me.

Both of my sons are in Iraq (one a major in the MPs) and the other an ensign with the SEALs.

See to your weapons and stand to your horses,

I have horses and help a freind with his breeding operation, he owns American Saddlebreds, and just 48 hours ago was the first foal of the year, a little Pinto Filly... Mare and foal are doing fine!!

Retired from Navy SpacOps, was a PBR Sailor not a Seal.

Sounds like I am one of the younger ones here. I was born in 1964. I work for a national independent foodservice distribution cooperative as a Systems Support Specialist. I keep the computers, phone sys, network, etc. running for the sales branch in Oshkosh. I've been married for almost 12 years. I have 4 daughters between the ages of 15 months to 8 years. I live in the boonies, so I can go to the backyard and shoot to my heart's content. I have been hunting since to age of 12. I have been shooting CAS for 2 years.

I'm 48.  Wore many different hats because the husband was transferred all over the country.  Started out working as a payroll clerk, police dispatcher, kennel hand.  Now I'm a part time vet tech and full time Grossmutti (granma) and guide dog puppy raiser (currently raising puppy #16).  I'm also an artist currently working with beads and buckskin but also pick up a paintbrush once in a while.

Been doin' CAS for a little over 5 years now.

I'm 58 years old and a Baptist minister for the past 24 years. I have served churches in Texas and Arizona. I'm looking for another church so if any of you Baptists out there know of a church in Tx. N.M. or Az. looking for a pastor shoot me an email.

Prior to that I was a police officer for 12 years. Big change huh?

On March 14th I will have had the pleasure of being married to Aimless Jane for 34 years. We have no children. But we do have a 2 year old, 4 lb Chihuahua named "The Cisco Kid" and believe me he's a toot.

On June 28th 1995 I founded the Comanche Trail Shootists here in Midland, Texas and served as it's Trail Boss for 5 years. :)

Howdy......
Thankx for all your replys so far. I find it very interesting it see what you do when you are not shootin.
One thing in did not mention is my wife of 31 years (Beverly) She doesn't shoot and more then likely will never. She is an auditor for the Dept. of Defense and a Certified Public Account in the state of California. Her real love is pottery. She has a studio (#16A) in Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park in San Diego (right next tyo the ZOO) We have two boys, Seth and Trevor. Seth will be 28 next month and Trevor is 26. They both shoot but would never be caught dressed like a cowboy!

Good shootin......

I've worked for a large Seattle-based bank for the past 15 years.  I've done many different jobs in my career with them and been through many changes in ownership.  Currently (and for the forseeable future) I'm a branch manager.  I look after 19 employees in the Sun Valley, CA office.

I've been married for 12 years to the lovely Edju Kate, who just joined in January and will be accompanying me to EOT this year.  We have an 8-year old daughter (going on 30) named Drama Queen and three cats.

I suppose I should throw in my two bits worth here .......

Pro musician since I graduated from High School, third generation native Arizonian (and third to own the family brand), raised as an Army Brat all over the world so I am fairly OK in Swabish and can get along well enough in Russian and Spanish to survive if I have to.

Worked eight years for Maricopa County Juvenile Court, most of that with youth gangs .... did that as a restful thing to unwind from the pro music grinds and hassles! ;D

Collector of 1880s banjos, compulsive player of stringed instruments ( I play a total of 64 different ones), folklorist and collector of toy soldiers. I also build and maintain websites.

Website is best entered from www.locksley.com ..... that way you get to choose which way you want to go.

Well, let's see. I retired from law enforcement in 1993 after 33 years. I have been and still am a professor of Criminal Justice at our local community college for the past 30 years. Looks like it is getting close to finally retire. In approximately 3 years our district will become a multi college district and I will be 70. That is a good time to give it up and enjoy however many years I will have left.(intent to live to at least 100 ;D)
