'Tis 15, light flurries and north wind. WC 1. "Light snow this morning will give way to mostly cloudy conditions this afternoon. High around 25F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulations less than one inch."

This vintage Jay-Pee Swivel Duty holster for a 357 Colt was in the $5 catch all basket ...SNAG !

It is dated 1944 ...but they were made into the 60's ...here "triple ace" B.Gen Robin Olds wears a similar one circa 1965

Another famous F4 pilot and Co commander of the 8th tactical fighter wing... “Chappie”
Who was my boss when I served.

Story was that Col Olds has 20 loops sewed on each side of belt.

I believe there is a holster like yours in a box in the back room.

Indeed a Lefty ...has 12 loops Dated 1944 uber cool My Police duty holster is designed with belt slide & D rings for over shoulder strap

I note the USFA issue holster that B.Gen Olds & Gen. Daniel ‘Chappie’ James Jr. were is different in that the suspension is the wire hooks are for the Web belt and the toe is sewn and has a tiedown

We got 14.5 total, 2nd heaviest on record for one day, record still stands at 19.

Wife had to go get Covid test today for surgery on Friday, has had to cancel heart ultrasound twice because of snow. Try again tomorrow. She was all upset this morning, can't get the scooping guy on phone, must be scooping, Found out granddaughter has no snow type boots or proper pants to scoop that deep. I ain't much use, she got the steps and the car cleaned off and her Yuppie not real but sorta 4WD went right out the driveway because the snow was only maybe a foot and no drifting. Street better and 2 blocks to snow route, should be fine, left about 45 minutes ago, no call about being stuck or in the ditch.

That is like the issue I had.

These are in a box of holster here. Several more including a few of mine. These were Suzanne daddy’s . The pouch and one on right are Don Hume the other a Bianca (spelling) both basket weave- my duty stuff is all just plain black leather or kydec or nylon. Including my one Air Force issue.

I'll have to keep an eye out for USAF Issue , I had not set out to collect vintage holsters (I sorta blundered in )

One Bauer Brothers came with a COLT Police Positive I bought.
and another Original WWII US M3 Enger-Kress Shoulder Holster with a 1911 Ithaca from a Pilot I acquired
I also got a Really cool soft holster with my WW2 bring back 1918 Luger.
and a capture Beretta M1935 came with its issue holster

" voilà " I had budding assortment !

Have an early call out at work today. Have to pump a grease trap at a restaurant.

Modern Air Force issue holsters are just Blackhawk kydex with a drop leg option. Less exciting

Maybe in 50 or 60 years vintage kydex may be of interest $:-\$
Like I said "I had not set out to collect vintage holsters" $:-\$

Can't afford collector cars or motorcycles
no interest in collecting Stamps, coins, fishing lures or cigar wrappers
Tell myself "to old to collect women" ( actually falls into that can't afford syndrome too )

so Old guns and apparently accompanying leather $:-\$

Got an ear ache from this cold, so taking a PTO day and get some rest.

I have two vintage holsters. Like Major 2 said "I had not set out to collect vintage holsters".
A 1914 Mauser and a WWII 1911A1 that came with the pistols.

'Twas -5 earlier. 'Tis 4 and sunny. High of 22.

Yuppiemobile is stuck at end of the drive, dog gets to keep his danglies now till Feb 10. Road service is going to be here in about a half hour, I just wanted to grab the scoop, I know I could have got it out, just a snow plow ridge.

Rita has a heart ultrasound at 1:45, she called and they said that to come in early and they'd work her in. Not sure if John hasn't caught up or what, no answer, hope he OK, Niece and her husband are coming over later to shovel if John don't get here. Had maybe another inch last night.

Suffering along with a sore back today ( I can sympathize with you all that are shoveling SNOW)

In my case, I wrenched mine pressure washing my building , I must have over did it moving the unit around and twisting.
Sounds STUPID< but there it is sore as he!!

No plans on the day, ain't retirement grand

Morning all.

30 degrees with a bit of white stuff falling in Missoula.

Today’s plan is to drive a convoy of vehicles out to Lolo Hot Springs lodge and fox their plumbing issues: I am not sure what this entails, but I figure I will likely learn.

On the topic of equipment failure: my right front wheel bearing is on the list to be replaced this weekend. It’s making noise. Also, the fuel injectors are next in line.

Any word from Roo about tornadoes?

I gleaned from Roo's post , the Tornado missed him, but was close enough to have him sit it out in his storm cellar
He posted on another subject after that, so I guessed he was OK !

Well ! machine is ordered, delivery is Feb. 3

Considering that good ( took 4 weeks to get the Range )

beats hanging the laundry on the fence this morning
