Turning cowboys into pediatric orderlies?

Well now, reading Wiki up on B.M. Bower's described tea kettle "singing placidly to itself and puffing steam with an air of lazy comfort, as if it were smoking a cigarette". And Dr. Della Whitmore "can shoot a coyote, laugh off a hazing, doctor a horse, and turn cowboys into pediatric orderlies." Tea kettles can't be rippin butts. Bower sounds like a witch!

If you go here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/search/?query=bower  you should be able to find most of her novels.
In my book a pioneer is a man who turned all the grass upside down, strung bob-wire over the dust that was left, poisoned the water, cut down the trees, killed the Indian who owned the land and called it progress.  Charles M. Russell

Thanks! With Guttenberg you can download Kindle versions and many Kindles will include audio readouts which aren't too metallic sounding, but pretty good.
