It is with great sadness that I write to inform everyone of Capt. JEB's passing, yesterday. As many of you know, Capt. JEB (also known as Michael Fischer) has been battling cancer for quite some time. Nonetheless, he tried to shoot every match, and the ones he couldn't shoot, he still came to and kept score. Capt. JEB served as our Saluda Saddle Tramps Posse Secretary and as an NCOWS Senator. He was also well know in SASS circles. Capt. JEB always demonstrated the essence of the spirit of Cowboy and Western Shooting in manner of dress, choice of firearms, and in the way he conducted himself. Capt. JEB's example and deep level of dedication was unmatched. His wife, Jenell Fisher, also a member of our posse, has informed me that Capt. JEB will be cremated and that a memorial service is being planned for after the first of the year. I will keep everyone informed about any arrangements.
Rest in peace, Capt. JEB. It has been an honor to know you and thank you for giving of your time and your spirit, to our posse. Adios, hermano y vaya con Dios. We will remember you.
Please keep Capt. JEB and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
