I voted the first day of early voting.  No one in line except for me.  In-out-done!

Funny how everyone has their own reaction... I prize this ritual like few others. As the son of a Vietnam vet ( he, the son of a combat medic from WWII), I grew up knowing the life-long effects that service to your fellows and your country sometimes bring. This act of voting is my "middle-finger" to the forces of evil and socialism and apathy that would deprive MY son of his Liberties should I fail to role-model good civic actions. The bluehairs? God bless em, each and every one. I don't want to live in a world without the ladies and gents that staff our polling places. FWIW....

I'm with you, scrubby.

I have voted in every election I've been eligible for since I turned 21. That was in 1969, the year I went to Vietnam. I came back and got out of the Army in '71 so my first national election was 1972. Haven't missed a chance to vote since then. I always think of the people who gave their lives to insure my right to vote.

I also vote by mail. It's nice to sit down at my kitchen table and read over the issues and check the people running for office that I don't know much about especially judges! 71 cents postage and it's on it's way! I've been voting like this for about 10 years here in Ohio.

I'm unhappy in Washington State.  We're seeming to lead the way in anti-gun laws.  It looks like the old west guns that I have on display will all have to go in the safe now.  Otherwise, if I was burglarized, I could be charged with a felony for leaving them out where a prohibited person might be able to gain access.  I'm wondering, though.  Is a safe good enough?  Given enough time and tools, a prohibited person could gain access there too...  Argh.

A steel gunsafe bolted to the exterior wall is good enough in Europe. It's enough for an insurance company also. Yes any burglar or malcontent can work on a safe to gain access but it's not easy and very time consuming. Now a cold muzzle to your wife's head is diffferent. Give them the keys quickly. It's an unpleasant subject but I think it's a rare situation. Locking guns up is no hardship and sensible.
