Since this is the place for games of chance
« on: September 14, 2018, 08:44:46 AM »
This is my version of a Gamblers box

The Colt (replica) is in 22 short w/ steel lined barrel and American Holly grips by my hand...
Standard 22 CB shorts only , I reframe from the Hi-velocity.

The Poker chips are also by me, printed on AH the design is from 1876 , copied from one found on EBay
( Chips today are larger and flashier)

I have ordered original bone Dice off EBay for the upper left compartment...

the box is dove jointed Beech w/ brass hardware.

and an original

Hello Major,
Looks great.  I have to ask what is AH that you printed on?

During the Deadwood days, I made a bone poker ship, has a 10 on one side and Gem on the other.   My wife snagged it and it is her good luck charm, especially when we play blackjack in Vegas.   Did you make the box as well?     I am currently looking to box a goldrush pepperbox I bought.   I have one of those boxes from the craft store, but will need to beef it up some how.

Well Major, my IT department says I have to explain why I have a 1 x 2 of Holly Wood stuck in our printer.   How did you print on the wood?

Alternatively .... if one has access to an old-fashioned "toner" based laser printer, those "fuse" the toner onto the paper via heat.
One can then transfer the toner to another object by using the page as an "iron on transfer".

Can't do that with ink jet printers. But one can take the ink-jet page to a place that still does Xeroxes . The added advantage
to that is that the image can be reversed by pushing the correct buttons so's it comes out non-mirrored on the object.

hope that made sense....

or one can use scissors and elmer's glue
