You sound like quite the Ray of sunshine there, Del.

I'm safely in Billings getting settled in.  Dinner in ten minutes, then the ever enthralling speech from the school president.  Yay.

Yesterday's shooting trip went okay.  The rear sight on the rifle wiggled loose, which made hitting things tough.  Once I got that all figured out it went better.  Burned some 9mm and 10mm as well.  I decided a 10 is probably in my future before too long.

Glad you arrived. Them speeches are a joy. Be careful ya might gain some weight from that good college food.

Meat chicken class?
No. "Show" class.

Picked up the truck and horse trailer from the neighbor. Horses are going in the morning.
Three kids are doing horses. Pleasure classes are Friday. Speed show is Saturday.

Chicken judging is tomorrow.

Oh don't worry I like most of my customers and they like me.  Neighborhood stores are fun.

Just tonight some guy came in and got antifreeze, asked me if I  knew anything thing about cars.  Lied and told him just a little.  Asked me if I knew why he had to review his car up in drive to make it go  and why it reved up as he drove it.

I told him something with the transmission and asked him if it was low on fluid.  He didn't know, he'd never checked it.  Watched I'm and some other guy look under the hood and play with their smart phone's for about 10 minutes.  Was to busy to help them, didn't  know if I wanted to anyway, sometimes you have to let people learn on their own.

Heard him take off, slipping away.

Ricer
(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Body kit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals

Change a few things and you could have a stock 289 Mustang with an automatic.  Put long shakles on it, L60S on it and paint the pumpkin orange. ;D

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

'Tis 68 and fog. "Humid. Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the middle 80s. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent."

Thsnk you for the coffee Slim.

Good luck to all of you at the fair. We don’t have them here. There is a state fair though. Our county doesn’t have one .

That's odd. All the counties in WI have a fair. But, 4H and FFA are pretty big big in the rural areas.

They have both here... if you remember years back the group Alabama, would appear on stage with Ft Payne FFA jackets on.  I think this county maybe to close to Birmingham . The more rural communities support FFA AND 4 H.

Morning all.

About 65, and raining in Billings, Montana.  I'm sure to be going in a rafting trip, but if this is the weather, I may just stay home and take a nap.  One wouldn't think that one hour of time zone difference would make much of an impact, but I'm a little jet lagged.

Went to the Montana fair yesterday.  I think there were more people there than in my entire home town...  And I somehow got talked into going on some rides at the carnival, so that was interesting.  I was still woozy an hour after getting back.

The rodeo is tonight, but I can't make it.  :-\. You lived in Montana for a while, Roo, didn't you?

Strange how things work out....

On Thursday, I cut a deal with my FFL to purchase a consignment Colt 380 Government, BUT ! seems his wife had sold it pending payment
just a few hours before...and had not as yet mentioned it to Ted  :(

Ted was apologetic, as he was kinda sad to have to tell me.... But he said, maybe he could make it up for it
and shows me a Colt 2nd Gen. 1st model Dragoon ...had just come in Today ( Sat. morning )
I appraised it for him, ( Ted's not that up on such guns).
I have one, so it was not really in my wheel house, but my buddy ( who was meeting there as we do on Saturday's prior to lunch,)
was and bought it... :)  total time ; it was 45 minutes in the shop !

Ted then say's " hey did I show you this ".....  BANG !   me  ...."UMMM NO you did not ! "

Colt 1849 Pocket ...model all matching numbers  40% remaining silver plate on TG & Guard ...
It came home with me  ;)

when planets align...do the deal !
