« on: July 12, 2018, 01:52:01 PM »
I have a uberti 1873 deluxe short sporting rifle. the butt stock is to short for me/length of pull. is there anybody that sells longer replacement ones. I do not care if it is finished or not because I am not crazy about the factory red shiny finish anyway. any help will be apprecheated,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I don't know of any longer stocks available short of custom build.  But you could add a spacer to the end and cover it with a leather buttwrap.  The wood on the Uberti pistol grip rifles does seem to be more red than their straight-stocked brethren, but that is easily refinished.  http://www.theopenrange.net/articles/ll_uberti_refinishing.pdf

You can always add a nice lace on pad with a spacer inside of it made of leather or a shaped piece of stock wood  from another stock. Thats what I did for my Model 12 stock that was too short. I used an old reshaped recoil pad inside of my lace on cover.
