Chuck Burrows
« on: July 09, 2018, 02:26:08 PM »
I'm looking for contact info for the late Chuck Burrows' widow Linda or other family. The only phone number I can find for her is the one from the website and it is now disconnected. I want to get in contact with them to see about restoring the old WRTC website for reference and posterity. Chuck spent a lot of time posting on various forums and had lots of pictures to go with them. I'd love to see the pictures restored to those posts so that folks can continue to enjoy the results of the craft he worked so hard to perfect.

I saved some of the pictures while they were still up.

I hate to ask this but is our friend Sandy Morrissey still with us? I haven't spoken with him for a few years now and think about him from time to time. He always visited with me when I had tables at Blade show and we spoke on other forums that are now closed. Sandy was friends with Chuck and he may possibly have some additional contact information.

Gents, let me know if we need more images. I archived a bunch after he passed and before their website went down.
A lot of his work was “scraped” by google as well.

We might need your saved pictures. Most of them are archived on the wayback machine and can be sourced from there. I have a web developer that can rebuild the website from there but there is some stuff that's missing. It's juts a matter of whether or not I can procure the domain.

So far I have had no bites on contact for anyone who might have access to the domain or Chuck's materials. So I've started the process of buying the domain and once that happens, I'll start asking folks to help fill in the blanks with pictures they have saved.

How does that work ?  if you buy the domain are the materials still there ?

I had email Chuck , with Ideas he himself publish a book of his work ....

I was hoping to find a backup copy of the site but if that is not possible, the internet archive site (wayback machine) has a copy of it and it is mostly intact. The whole year of 2007 is missing as well as most of the tomahawk section but we have the broken links and the file names. I never changed the file names w hen I saved pics so they can be matched to the links and uploaded. Buying the domain gives me the ability to use it and restore all the pics in his posts over the years but the site will have to be rebuilt by my web developer. It will be at considerable cost but I won't be asking folks for money. Rather I'll enlist the help of all those willing to fill in the blanks with the pics that are missing from the archive. I also thought about adding an article section with some of the tutorials he's posted on forums over the years. Right now, I don't want anyone to do anything until I find out if I can procure the domain.

I asked him several years ago about writing a book but he said he really didn't have the time. I really wish he had. I'd have had to buy three or four copies for fear of wearing them out.
