Evening all.

I am well and truly sun burnt.  Seven hours in top of a hill looking west sans hat will do that.  But, I was shooting, so that that.  Took out a few rifles and a couple pistols and burned about $200 of assorted 308, 223/5.56, 9mm, 380acp and 20 gauge.  Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
I just want to brag for a minute here.  I was hitting a piece of letter paper consistently at 230 yards with my Beretta 9mm pistol off hand.  Ok, bragging done.

I'll add a vote for the S&W shield.  My dad has one and it's a pretty nice gun as far as "combat Tupperware" goes.  The Glock 43 is not too bad either.   Walther PPKs are nice, too. My mom has a Bersa Fire Storm, which is a PPK clone made with an aluminum frame: it's only about three ounces heavier than a a j-frame
But holds 8 rounds of 380acp.  Never had a hiccup, even with Lehigh Extreme Penetrators.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and American tea are hot.

Not watching the royals 'cuz my ancestors kicked them out over 200 years ago.

Going to my uncle's funeral today. He was almost 90.

'Tis 54 and overcast. Rained overnight. "Cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the morning  then partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 70s. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent."

Just how much is that shindig across the pond costing the British taxpayers? For sure her father taint paying for it. The British Royals are nothing more than a tourist draw but I feel for the British taxpayer.

Missed the nupials but did help Mrs Roo get her farmers market booth set up. Sold out of eggs thru the week, this week. She sold some muffin breads (local peaches and strawberries) and other items this week. She reports.

So a spot of the good old come sit on the Veranda, sweet tea for me this morning.

No range report on the Shield yet-several bouts of thunderstorms today, power out for most of the afternoon.

Perfessor Super Marvel, the S&W Shield comes either with or without a manual safety (required for some states). Mine has none, just the "trigger safety", and a somewhat long trigger pull. S&W uses a sort of hinged trigger, instead of the Glock style scissor trigger most of the other striker fired guns have. The S&W and Rugers that have a manual safety, have one that operates like a 1911, although it's somewhat smaller. Frame mounted, and down is off. The "Backwards" safeties are the ones on DA/SA autos, mounted on the slide, which are "up is off", like the Smith 39/59 series, Ruger P-series, Beretta M-9, etc.

Supposedly the shindig across the pond yesterday cost somebody $45,000,000. Mostly for security. The Diana wedding cost $110,000,000. That's a lot of tea.
Rain all week, next Saturday we do our WB match. The range is going to be a mud hole I'm afraid. As long as it's not raining. Good coffee drinking weather.

Started out a rainy morning for our cowboy shoot. But cleared up nicely, now it's sunny and bright. Shot clean in out Military class, with the Lebel and '92 French ordinance revolver.

Loaded some Lebel for my 93 Berthier with lead cast by my friend Dakoda Ike & Trailboss ....

When Noah runs aground, I'll go print some on paper, meanwhile I'm stuck in the ark with the rest of the beasties....
though I did carve some American Holly grips on my Derringer.

Did get the BBQ @ Meat & Fire.... it was OK, but I think I like my regular joint better, which is further and I shyed away from driving the  distance in the wet .  :-\

Prof, I will put in a vote for a scandium J frame lightweight revolver. That's my edc. It only holds 5 .38s but mine is cut for moonclips so it's a relatively fast reload.

I agree, I have one and it goes everywhere with me. I did change out the tiny rubber grips it came with for these Boot grips, gives me a much better hold on the gum.

After a sunny afternoon, another toad strangler blew through, while we were in church. Some construction behind the gym seems to have interfered with the drainage, we got about an inch of water in side one corner of the gym and in the storage room. Took 7 of us about 45 minutes to get most of the water swept/mopped/squeegeed out the back door.

Here's my j frame, before and after a Marine Red cerakote job. It needs another paint job nowdays. I tried the pretty rosewood and uncle Mike's rubber bootgrips but they were uncomfortable so I tried these weird ergo grips. They do a good job of controlling the recoil.

Made the coffee, watched the grandson get on the bus, wife is still sleeping, Today shows on, am watching the terrible mess in Hawaii and the evil done in Santa Fe. I think that while the people on this planet are going crazy, the planet is going crazy too.

Stay safe Cas City.
