Indoor Pools ???
« on: February 23, 2018, 12:37:40 PM »

So:  Needless to say, I don't have a McMansion.  I don't have space for an Indoor Pool.  Yet ..... I have one.  It's in the space I normally call my "Armory."   This space contains my Gun Safe, Shelving for boxes of ammunition, shooting accessories, other toys, you know, "Stuff."  Also an old pine chest of drawers for leather goods and other "stuff."  Plus a nice Faux Wood gun case for my shotguns (safe is too small) and slings and "stuff."  There is also a rather nice (was) drafting table for my Vibe Case Cleaner and Media Separator and more "Stuff."  A really nice room.  Lots of "Stuff."

WAZ

Snow has melted.  It's now raining like a Cow (large) Peeing onna Flat Rock and has been for days.  I've sprung a leak.  The armory back corner of the house is 2 inches lower than the rest of the house (not planned that way) and the ground is now saturated.  Adding insult to injury, the rain has been hard enough to overtop the Roof Gutter system.  Glug Glug Glug.  I am not amused.  I'm gonna need water wings.  Or a Canoe.  Or a Kayak.

I also really sympathize sir. Hurricane Irene put 6 inches in my house. We threw a bunch of things out, gutted walls to 4 ft, floors to the joices, wet wiring, heat and air unit, lived in two fema trailers, rewired it, jacked it up 24 inches, a new foundation ( old one didn't pass code) and put it back but with alot less stuff. Took almost a year. Water is a slo mo nightmare. I actually had bad dreams for a long time. We were lucky and had the help of Baptist, Methodists and other disaster relief groups. God bless them all. Hope you're able to keep it from getting any worse.

Coffinmaker, you are welcome to store your armory stuff at my house until you get all dried out.

But seriously, good luck and be glad it didn't happen when you were away!

Coffin, here is a crazy idea.
If one were to treat it like a flood, lay down plastic tarps and sanbags around that part of the foundation, might it keep the waters out?
