Interested in Cartridge Belt
« on: February 09, 2018, 06:47:31 AM »
Does anybody here make a Fair Weather Christian Military belt and use vinegaroon dye? I would like to have one and used to own an excellent example that was made by Camano Ridge from this forum but can't seem to get back in touch with him. I will never sell another piece of my gun leather!!1

Trailrider Products ( www.gunfighter.com/trailrider ) does, indeed make a FWC cartridge belt. However, the dye used is a 50/50 mixture of Fiebing's black and tan alcohol-based dyes, called Faded Arsenal. In reality, this looks just about black, unless the customer wants it shading a bit more toward a worn, tan shade. Prices shown on the website are NOT current!  Base price for the 1-7/8" wide belt, including the M1851 Enlisted Eagle Sword Belt Plate with applied silver wreath, or the M1874 "U.S" plate is $98.00, NOT including cartridge loops. Pistol cartridge loops are $1.40 each; rifle cartridge loops (.45-70, .50-70, etc.) are $1.75 each. Officer's 1-5/8" wide belt with the integrally-cast brass wreath is $97.00 base price + cost for cartridge loops as above. All items are custom made to order, not in stock. Size measurements must be specified using a dressmaker's tape or piece of string around the waist where the belt will be worn, including if worn over a coat.
[This is not a solicitation for the above item, but is provided for your information.]

I make them with vinagroon.  I have made 5, 2 with leather loops and 3 with cotton webbing loops.

The picture is my personal belt with white cotton loops, 10 38-40 (my rifle caliber) and the rest 38 Long Colt for my conversions.

I just finished one for someone using a tan cotton looping and all 45 loops.  I'll try and get a picture of it up ASAP.

What are you looking for?

Sounds good!

Let me ask you a few questions:

What is your REAL belt size?   (Take a belt that fits well and measure from tip of tongue to the hole you use.)

Are you right or left handed?

Will you use this for Cowboy shooting?

Do you want the 1851 Federal Eagle buckle or 1872 US buckle (See pictures)

I usually put 40 loops on mine...does that wok for you?

When I get the answers, I can work up a price and delivery date.

Thanks!

Flinch

You're right Skeeter, it's not worth it! Since everyone is tooting everyone else's horn, I'll toot mine. I make a Fair Weather Christian belt. I use Fiebings black dye, and U.S. made buckles. Standard model has approx 40 to 44 loops. $125 with buckle and loops.
Thank you!
