Just happening to have a couple of snubbies I can verify they are fun to shoot and will hit a 12" steel square at 30 yards if you hold and squeeze.Not every shot, I  have not completely figured out the Kentucky elevation, but a 3" barrel is not a long range gun anyway

They don't hit hard at that range but they will hit if you do your part At CAS ranges they are deadly every round in a tea cup.

I lied....chiming in again.... ::)

Getting the Navy or another Army ( Indeed another ARMY ) in 44 is a sound choice ( Hellgate is spot on about both using the same Dia. balls )  simplifies your ball carry choice.

Personally ( here is that opinion thing again )  I'd pair a shorter ARMY with your present Army.

 Or maybe even, an Avenging Angel ....

What’s involved in fitting a gated cartridge conversion on the navies and armies? Thinking about getting a gated Kirst converter in the future

The price may vary these days, but Gary Barmes would fit one for $80 plus your cost for the cylinder.
First rate work !

Well, to add to your pocketbook woes,  remember the Colt Army is kind of a chameleon.   You can talk to VTI and get different barrels.

HA HA HE HE HO HO ...... HEY!!!

PLUS ONE to Mogorilla.  With just a little bit of fiddling, ALL of the barrels from Pietta will fit ONE frame.  As in, Pietta 1860 Barrels (all lengths) and Pietta .44 Navy barrels, also all lengths will fit a single frame.  Very Versatile indeed.  May need a couple of extra wedges.

1861 Colt Navy revolvers are amazing pointers and fine pistols. Sam Colts favorite.
