Serial 22983 .45 LC Nickel Ivory NIB but What box?
« on: July 07, 2018, 09:53:22 AM »
Had this gun many years but when I purchased it from a local shop they said they had mixed up it's box with another gun. So it came in a one-piece hinge lid short box with mismatched blue end label when I purchased it. But I also have a 2-piece long box with no end label and dated rev 7-05 on the Trade Mark label inside the box. I think this long box is more correct?

#22983 is likely a US made gun with USA parts by serial number.  If the hammer is hand checkered and a cone firing pin very likely.  If so a two piece box would be correct.

Yes it is all USA by all characteristics as well as serial number. I lucked out wasn't sure when I purchased it and took a chance and won. The box was obviously wrong but I think the long 2 piece box is the right style anyway.
