Flatop Target
« on: December 01, 2017, 01:16:40 PM »
Anybody have an idea how many Flatops have been produced ?  There have been a few show up recently on various sites, but as a rule i don't see very many. I've been looking for a Bisley Flatop for a long time with no luck !

This is one I have in 38 special.  It is the only one I have ever seen.

Pangea, gorgeous gun. You said it's in .38 Special but the barrel says 38WCF. Is it a dual cylinder, or what?

Yes, it is a 38 WCF.  Not sure what I was thinking.

Way cool Pangaea. From what I've read there were 98 Bisley Flattop Target  revolvers in 38WCF produced by Colt in the first generation. I wonder how many where produced by USFA? Does anybody know if Uberti is still making Bisley Flattop Target models? Or if they ever did?

Uberti Bisley Flattop are not made anymore, since they have run out of frames.
Was in contact with Uberti 3 years ago about Flattops Bisley.

I wonder if they're producing them again? Dixie Gun Works stocks them in 44-40 and 45 Colt. I had one until a couple of years ago, and wish I'd never sold it. Interestingly, the ones Dixie is selling are built on black powder frames, but the one I had had the cross pin base pin release.

Cholla, I think the ones Dixie has are not Flattop Bisley's they are Flattop Cattleman(Single Action Army). The website lists the .45 and the .44-40 but I am pretty sure the .45's are gone and they just have the .44-40.

My apologies, fellas. I shouldn't be bringing up Uberti's in a USFA sub-forum!

Tirader,

A larger number of USFA handguns than we like to think about were made from at least some Uberti parts, so bringing them up is hardly a sin. (smile)

I think I was the one who brought up Uberti's when I asked if they were still making the Bisley Flattop. You're officially off the hook Cholla.
