Recent acquisition of a spencer carbine serial # 28182. Any know history on this antique??? Thanks pards.

For your 28182 - closest serial # is 28218, a Spencer Carbine issued to Company K, 4th Kentucky Mounted Infantry in July 1865.

Hope this helps.  Do you still have your Spencer Rifle?
