Had an "unintentional" hunting trip with the Vetterli-an unsuccessful one. Yesterday evening I was finally going to take my 3 loaded rounds out to the backyard range to see where they might hit relative to the sights. Wife was in garden, called out to me "The Long Nose one is here" No, the long nose is not an elephant! It's her name for the Armadillo that keeps poking holes all over the garden. Quickly located the armored critter, and figuring the untested load would probably shoot a little high, took a careful 6:00 hold on it and.....shot exactly where I was aiming. Panzer rat flew straight up a couple of feet, came back down running full tilt, under the fence by the lagoon and into the brush. Oh, well, maybe next time.
