No, the widow maker is the 1897 Winchester with the small hammer spur.  :o
The Remington Auto-loading shotgun is the first auto shotgun made in the USA. It was later known as the Model 11. It is the brother of the FN made Browning Auto-5.

The one i refer to has a widow maker was semi auto. You had to push the barrel down to chamber the first round in battery.  The barrel was checkered some wheres between the end if magazine tube and muzzel for a hand grip. Many users would simple place muzzel against solid object and push the stock forward to work the action. Being the safer option than Widow Maker designed method of standing it on the butt and pushing barrel downwards and releasing. Which sometimes caused it to fire. Of course i think you were at the same match when someone slammed fired a supposely empty 1897 at the end of match.  I am sure Trinity and Sod Buster were there.  Fortunately he had the muzzel pointed upwards and away from anypersons including his self.

I just looked up the one i am referring to it is 1911 Winchester. I would load images but i have not changed to imur.

The Morman curse on Winchester, Bennett refused to pay royalties to get the Auto-5 and has never been able to produce a really successful auto loading shotgun.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

'Tis 53 and fog. "Mostly sunny in the morning  then partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the lower 80s. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 50 percent."

Thanks for the coffee

The tropical weather is just south of us this morning.  We expect rain starting within a couple hours thru the weekend. Nothing like we seen in Texas this week. However it will be plenty. Step son is at Auburn and it has started there. We told him to come home this morning till it is over

Locally we only had a inch or so yesterday. More storms are building just south of us now.

Going to work a extra shift today.

Coffee is up.

The weather is wonderful now on the Tejas coastal plain near Houston...but the scenery isn't so wonderful.  The plant is still in ride-out mode ( volunteers stay at plant and shut down major equipment), and not sure when start-up is scheduled.  Good news, as of yesterday around lunch, there were no injuries at the plant.  There are a lot of people in need here.  I'm blessed to have no damage.  Time to volunteer...

If i understood correctly our Countywide Baptist diaster relieve team is loading supplies and are headed that way this weekend. They are bring construction equipment and a bucket truck.  Besides my few extra dollars i wish i could go along to help.

Then i have been reading about the wildfires out in the north west.  The area that i lived in included are being devastated by the fires.  They are going to be needing more help.

Harvey is supposed to get to us in eastern NC tomorrow but nowhere near as bad. The yard hasn't dried out from the tropical mess that came across Florida and moved up the coast the other day. Good day to stay in and drink some folgers. Any of you guys tried out the Black Rifle Coffee Co (I think that's right) brand?
