Did it. Since I decided to keep the Henry in .45 Colt/Schofield, I was looking for got a good deal on a 44-40 Henry or 1866. I found a used (99%) 1866 Uberti with a 24" barrel, in 44-40. I got it for about $800. Selling the Rossi 44-40 1892 and a non-CAS pistol will cover it....This way I have BOTH a Henry and 1866. I have a feeling the 1866 will be primary, and the Henry will be back-up main match rifle, replacing the Rossi 92.
Originally, I had thought of the 92 doubling as a brush gun with hot 200 grain JSP loads (around 2,000 fps with 2400 powder). Since I found this 1866, it became expendable because I already have a Marlin 336 in 30-30 for brush busting.
I'm going to be like Ralphie waiting on Christmas Eve, for his Red Ryder BB gun!
