1866 Yellowboy Stoeger Uberti date of manufacture
« on: July 11, 2017, 11:13:36 AM »
I have a excellent condition like new 1866 Yellowboy rifle by Uberti and imported by Stoeger. I have had many rifles like this, but this one has no proof marks or boxed letters any where, none in front of carrier, under the lever, or on the barrel. The only number is the serial number which is W24933 does anyone know how to find the year it was made. I have read all the Uberti dates that have the boxed letters.
Thanks if you can help

Yep.  Pull the Butt Stock off and check the sides of the lower tang.  Betcha  :D

I have also heard of under the forend.

As they have gone fairly consecutively with the serial numbers, I can narrow it down for you a little.  A very little  :)  Looking at a couple of mine, W04xxx was 2005, and W41xxx was 2012.  So yours is somewhere in between those   ;D

Thanks Abiline, that gives me a little idea, maybe 2007-8. I would pull the stock and forearm like you and Coffinmaker said but don't want to bugger up any screws as the gun is almost perect shape.
