Uberti Grips
« on: June 16, 2017, 03:56:22 AM »
I have a Uberti Flatop that recently had refinished. Instead of CCH, I had the entire gun blued. I love it but I never have been fond of the plain "red" grip that it has. I'm looking for a more natural walnut grip. Where can I find such? I really do not want to refinish my grips and if I need to send my gun to the grip guy, I will.
Thanks

Actually you can get a pretty nice "blank" from VTI Gunparts and DIY.  It will take some fitting and shaping.

Perhaps Major 2 will chime in a nice photo of the wood on his 32-20 ...... that he almost didn't get back  ::)

I understand you not wanting to refinish your grip.

I did strip the finish and it was European Walnut underneath. They turned out pretty well since they started as the ugly red color.

Hmm... I'm not overly fond of the grip color on my cattleman, but it's too lat to do anything now. I already made the holster to match  ::)
