HUSQVARNA HAMMER DOUBLE -- Part Tres >
« on: May 06, 2017, 04:59:40 PM »
In the Husky "Part Deux" thread therein hides a nice photo of my completed Husky.  It's a Coach Gun.  Today was my first chance to get it out to a match and actually shoot it in anger.  It is one SUPER Coach Gun.  It sports an English Style stock, straight with no pistol grip (Didn't know if I'd like that) and it's light.  Real light.  It also sports 2 1/2 inch chambers (can you spell All Brass Hulls??)

This gun is QUICK!!  I'm not quick (anymore).  But this gun makes me look quick.  It swings from target to target with great ease.  Not a fight.  By comparison, my "Go-To" guns (two TTNs and a Pedersoli) are TRUCKS.  Without all that excess barrel, this little gun is like a Ferrari.  The square load I have for it are quite pleasant to shoot.  When fair hit (you do have to point it) it takes CAS targets down with authority.  I seriously consider watching the Auctions and picking up a couple more.  Sell off the Trucks (NOT the Pedersoli).

Let's Play SHOTGUNS!!

Mon Deu!!  I .. I .. I don't .. know :o

I had a post.  I know I did.  Major 2 posted some photographic evidence for me.  I/We showed the complete transformation of the Husky from a typically long barreled European sporting arm, into a dedicated Coach Gun.  8).  However, as mentioned, I don't know where it is.

I did not save the "fall off" as I saw, after the saw, no real user it.  I would suppose it could suffice as a Cap Lock Howda.  That would be interesting  :o  A little hard on the wrist perhaps.  But, none the less interesting.

I really really like the looks of the underhammers! they may be "slow to run" but they have that "victorian elegance" and "artistic design" that is missing in so much today.  One really can't say that an 1897 trench gun is "elegant"   ::)

whilst I appreciate "prarie style" and "danish modern" in furniture, I really love the fuid lines and artistic features the victorian
era built into most everything.

Good job Coffin!

Kent,

Absolutely!!  This Husky is/was an absolute JOY to play with.  Light, quick, FUN!!  Right up until the left side Main Spring let go.  BANG ..
floppy hammer.  Now I must be in search of Main Springs for a Husky Double.  M50, Hammer Double, with floating back action locks.  I am so upset.  I could just SPIT!!
