Got a question about long range
« on: May 04, 2017, 04:29:33 PM »
Just got asked it, a member who don't get on much, Gopher Grease the guy that helped me cook in 2005 at Garnett.

Could a WWI 03 with telescopic sights be shot in long range if he brings photo copies of the original Army paper work? ;D

Don't matter, he is going to see if he can borrow it and try to bring it up next year.   I joking told him we could create a class for it if need be if he shares it.  Belongs to a relative but he thinks he could liberate it for a short time if he put his house up for collateral.   ;)

We do not have a class for scoped rifles.  I suppose if a couple of folks showed up with m1908/1913 Warner Swayze telescopic musket sights, we could have them shoot against each other in the EEM, as long as I got to watch.

For now though, he's welcome to bring it and ring all the steel he wants.

(Whispering)  Chuck, you forgot to tell him we get to shoot it, too!

If you had enough of them you could name the class the "Herbert McBride Class".  Ever read "A Rifleman Went to War"?  Great book!

I told him if he brings it we'd make up a class for it if we all got to shoot it.   ;D

The desserts that year would be incredible also, just turn him loose on that.

His apple cake with the homemade caramel is to die for and the molasses cake with the lemon glaze and caramelized currants will kill you but you'll die happy.

I reserve the right to shoot any unusual firearm that shows up on my place to verify its... safety. Yeah, safety, that's it. I need to verify that they're safe to shoot.   ::) ;D

Seriously thought. We'd love to see Gopher Grease again and he's welcome to ring all my long range steel that he wants

Methinks our command is easy!  Offer them trigger time and desert, and you can do what you please?

(I'm not complaining, I think it's pretty cool!)

Uncle Sam has always held the firm belief that the troopers weren't happy unless they were complaining.  Looks like this is just proof of same.
