Thanks for the coffee...I needed it.  Stayed up late last night.  I made a canvas garment that was a mock-up for sizing.  It looked so good, I decided to finish it out.  Well...I learned a lesson or two...it came apart at the seams as my stitching wasn't correct.  Of course, it didn't do this until I was completely finished!  There is no salvaging the garment, but at least I know the size I need, and more about stitching (note...I don't sew, I stitch....women sew).

I'm not a butcher( and don't play one on TV), but I'm pretty sure US beef doesn't have any chicken cuts! Maybe Canadian cows are different?

Morning all.

City trip went well.  I got stuck in traffic and didn't make it where I wanted, but that turned out to be okay, since they didn't have what I was looking for. :-\

Going to work today, then taking the dog out for a long walk.  Beyond that, I don't know what I'm doing.  Maybe shoot some 556 at 300 yards. ::)

I hate these dang kids that can't show up on time, can't set an alarm, can't hear a phone ring or any of that stuff.    >:(

Was getting ready for bed and got a help call from the boss, kid finally came in almost 3 hours late, fear in his eyes, blunt and to the point I told him floors and counters were clean and he better put his arse to stocking as much as could go out cause Jake and I have a truck coming in about 6 and Friday is our busiest night and we ain't gonna be happy if he ain't done poop.  But I didn't say poop. ;D

Morning y'all.
Coffee is hot.

Working on the shed floor today.

'Tis 63 and cloudy. "Partly sunny. Isolated showers in the morning. Highs in the middle 70s. West wind 10 to 15 mph."

Currently 40 heading for 60 and clear skies.

This weekend is the Truckee River Festival. (Kayaking, crafts, beer booths and food).  This year we even have a river!  The flow is about 5 times faster than is normal for this time of year.  Only the professional Kayakers will be allowed in the river.  The Fire Department’s water rescue team has put on additional help, to keep people out of the water and pull out those that manage to get in where they’re not supposed to be.  2 years ago you could walk across the river and not get get your feet wet!  Not so this year!

Morning all.

We have a similar water circumstance here Russ.  At one fishing hole I frequent, I used to have to drive to the end of the boat ramp, turn right and go another 2 miles along what should be the bottom of a lake.  This year, the place I used to fish is almost 60 feet under water.  :o  Which is actually how it should be...

For my schedule today, I'm leaving in about half an hour for a SAR training.  We're working with helicopters today.  I've never gotten a ride in a helicopter bigger than an R44, so this Huey ought to be fun.  ::)

I brought them home last night. The holster is for the 1914, which is what I thought.

I think this video.

I'll stir the coals.

Today was eventful.  We rode in the helicopter for SAR today, though we had to cut the training short because of weather.  :-\  But, I was lifted 100 feet in the air on the end of a 1/4 inch cable in a 30mph crosswind.  Fun.  ::)

After the helicoptering, I went out and burned through some 5.56 and 12 gauge ammo.

You are assuming the oldest is a daughter.  ;) The oldest is a daughter.  ;D
Some years again she used to carry a toy pistol in her purse. The last couple years she expressed interest in concealed carry. We were going to attend a CCW class this Spring but our schedules did not allow it. We will look into it again soon.
BTW, I have a Bersa in .22 LR which she has shot. Therefore she is familiar with it.
