Actually, John, cleaning brass was exactly what I was doing! Just tried out some different 38LC loads yesterday and was doing the usual day after cleanup. Now for a good dinner!! ;)

Home here, new knee, bowel obstruction fixed, ammo loaded, rifles tested and anxious to get to a shoot real soon.  Hard to believe that a single sport could hold my interest this long, but it seems to eclipse all my other endeavors.  Thanks for reminding me JB,  A new season begins and I'm ready to make smoke and flames.

Dick, nice to hear that your 60 year maintenance's were a success.  Bitch to grow old isn't it?
Pat, give my regards to Paty
I just bought a used CH4D cannelure tool. Intent was to cannelure 38-55 brass to determine if accuracry would be better with finger seated bullets instead of crimping the BP reloads.  Still reading the instructions to figure how to use the thing for cases longer than pistol calibers.May have bought a pig in a poke

I'll be interested in learning how that cannelure tool works out JB.  I now have 2 38-55s and both are very accurate.  Also, with their light recoil they are great fun to shoot.  I'll be using them to introduce new shooters to long distance Cowboy Action side matches.

Dick, here is the instructions for the CH4D tool ... https://www.ch4d.com/Media/files/manuals/12000.pdf
Just fiddling with it briefly so far, having trouble determining if with a 38-55 round, bullet down on the tool - how to adjust the tool so the cutter is at the base of the bullet.  Plan to talk with Mr Davidson at CH4D, because all the you tubes watched only are using pistol caliber brass
