Favorite YouTube Channels?
« on: April 17, 2017, 07:09:34 PM »
I find myself watching YouTube periodically and I've developed a few "go-to" favorites.  I'd like to hear if others here have channels that they seem to check in with often.  It seems like the quality of many of these channels has gone up over the past couple of years.

Of course, Santee from the Arizona Ghostriders channel, OD#3's Atlanticproducts channel and the Capandball channel come to mind right away.  I also seem to take a look at the "big names", like Hickock45 and Forgotten Weapons.  I've been checking out some western films and TV shows on Westernsontheweb and PROclassicTV.

All of these can be found by using the search function on this page (not the top search bar, but the "search channels" bar below): https://www.youtube.com/channels

There are others, but those are some of my regulars.  Do any of you have suggestions for other channels that we should take a look at?

"Forgotten Weapons" by Ian (?). He interprets and shoots some pretty interesting firearms.

The guy has an amazing talent for firearms presentation. Now if he'd only get rid of that pony tail .....

My YouTube favorite that I subscribe to their channel includes: Hickok45, capandball, Mike “duelis1954” Beliveau, and Jed iTV. But my personal favorite (may have something to do with me playing a lead part) is my pard's YouTube channel Damn Born Productions. He is in the process of shooting and adding more content to keep the channel fresh but working a full time job and keeping his lovely girlfriend happy keeps him busy.

Good suggestions. I can't believe that I failed to mention Duelist's videos. Those are on my list too.

It is earlier than our time frame, but my favorite is JAS Townsend and Sons.   They do a 18th-19th century cooking demonstration weekly and have other items throughout the week.  It mixes all my interests, food and history.   Not to mention, I learned that onion rings are period correct to ~1806.   All now I need to hear is buffalo wings are also period correct.

I'm still surprised this movie did so poor in its theatrical release. I find it much funnier than Blazing Saddles. I suppose in order to really appreciate it you have to have some knowledge of the B western tropes, e.g. All horses are named Wildfire, the good guys boots always match his shirt, etc. The sidekick explains some of it ("You mean other towns also have the train coming through?"), but even so it was a lot of inside jokes.

If you haven't seen it, watch it just to see Andy Griffith playing a gay cattle baron.  ;D

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I have a channel.  I enjoy watching it.  ::)

"The Bobcat in The Woods," if you're interested.  ;)

Aside from that, I watch
tnoutdoors9
Sootch00,
CodysLab (My personal favorite)
Ask Jeff Williams
Cavedweller1959
Shawn Woods

There are others, but those are the ones I watch most.
