Who made the rig worn by Pierce Brosnan in "The Son"?

I haven't heard of it. A quick search tells me it's a TV series. Maybe one of the other leather workers here will know the answer to your question.

I think it was made by David Carrico.

It appears that it was likely Mr. Carrico.  See his home page and scroll down a bit...

Thanks CCG!

Carrico doesn't list this new rig as such on his web site, unless it's that Mexican loop style that resembles my El Paso Saddlery 1930s "Austin" holster.

He made the "Slim Jims" I use for my Rem .44s and a military flap for my .44 Dragoon.

It's a made for TV special (starring Pierce Brosnan) about a wanna-be oil tycoon at the turn of the last century, hence the 'modern' arms.
The 'sperts are already picking it apart for it's historical inaccuracies like the mention of natural gas reserves at a time when that wasn't even being thought of.

As a kid growing up in the oil patch country of southern Alberta, I remember the eerie glow of the "flaring off", tens of millions of cubic feet of natural gas that was burned off because there was no market for it at the time. It also got rid of a lot of the odour associated with the drill rigs.

I don't know if that was done with the deadly "sour gas" (hydrogen sulphide?) as well.

You didn't like Daniel in "Aliens & Cowboys"? I think he and Harrison Ford did a bang up job as Cowboys.

I have an American friend whose British family history is very much southern Texas on the coast. He was educated in a British university, is quite erudite, a great machinist and foundryman (self employed restoring antique steam engines) and has a very interesting accent as you might expect.
He is an 1860s military re-enactor and has made two functioning.58 calibre 1862 Gatling guns.

Looks like it may be worth a watch.  Sure can't be worse than "The Lone Ranger" (with Johnny Depp)!

Amen. This is so true.

I liked 'Cowboys and Aliens'. Both were very good in their parts. It was a fun watch.

Worth a watch at least, isn't it? After all, it's a western.

The audience when I saw Depp in "The Lone Ranger" was mostly grey hairs who LOVED the movie! When the William Tell Overture was played, the whole audience was clapping to the music.

I enjoyed it more than I did the TV episodes.

I made Pierce Brosnan's holster, and a bunch more in "The Son". Some of the belt slides also. Gearing up for season 2!

I actually like The Son. Accurate or not, it has a lot of plots going- Texans trying to chase the Messicans back across the river, Brosnan's flash backs to being a White man that was captured and raised by Comanches, and just turn of the Century stuff in general.
