Several years ago when I was working on a Confederate Naval impression, I had purchased a Leech & Rigdon that I had Ottawa Creek Bill defarb, remove the roll engraved cylinder design to make a plain cylinder (since for some reason Uberti stopped offering it with the correct plain cylinder and used the '51 roll-engraved cylinder), and refinish the grips. I then had it engraved with the "Leech & Rigdon" lettering atop the octagonal flat, plus tuned internals and opened up the hammer notch, Treso nipples, . . . the works.
Four years ago or so I had it at the NCOWS Convention where a gentleman lusted after it because of a Confederate connection in his family heritage. I gave him my asking price and he bought it. At the time I asked him if he ever wanted to sell it to allow me first rights.
Well, ran into him this past weekend at this year's Convention and he had brought it with him to honor our informal agreement, so I bought it back.
