For once the weather liars were correct. >:( >:( We ended up with 24 inches of the evil white stuff, with drifts in the 4 to 6 foot range,They called a State of emergency for the area with a travel ban for anything that wasn't 4x4.Had to babysit my Grand daughter so I took the mighty Dodge Dakota. That truck is a monster in S**w,when I came back home there was 2 feet of packed S**w at the end of my driveway and the truck went through it like it wasn't even there.Love that truck,20 years old and doesn't owe me a dime.

Morning all.

Got the dog out for about 7 miles yesterday, so she was tired for...a good half hour.  Then she wanted to play ball again.  :o

In the evening, a friend convinced me to go out gold panning on a cold creek.  We didn't find anything to write home about.  Mostly just a bunch of super-fine powder gold.  So we did donuts with the truck instead. ::)

This afternoon, I'm going to try and make it to the rifle range and put some lead on the 750 yard target with the .243.   Coincidentally, a friend of mine will be there doing some qualifications for the Sheriff's Dept. with his supressed, Full-auto Colt M4 SBR.  If I'm real nice, I might get a few shots through it.   ;D

The grub  is ready for everyone!

Got another clear day, with a few scattered clouds.  Temps in the mid to upper 50’s.  Looked like we were giving my SIL in Spring Hill, FL, but they are about to start shooting ahead of us.  At least we’re getting a slow snow melt, keeping the possible flooding under control.

Going to hit the RV, Vacation and Garden show at the events center here in Reno tomorrow.  Maybe get some ideans for Road Trips this summer now that both of us are retired.  Just have to schedule a time somewhere between the NRA Annual Meeting in Atlanta in April, the Summer MIL birthday trip in July to Milwaukee and the Christmas trip back to Milwaukee in December.

Good Morning all.

At present, it is 45 degrees with a 2 mph wind from the SW and zero clouds.  The cloud part I'll have to take everyone's word for, though.  I'm in a hole filled with fog. ???

Went out scouting for turkey season last night, and turned up exactly nothing.  In fairness, I wasn't expecting anything there anyway.

I've got the office to myself this morning, so I have to head in half an hour early so I can get everything done before people show up.  ( Soapbox time:  Don't you hate it when people praise you for how well you are doing one day, but when you get in their way because they show up a half hour early and you're not done they get upset?   Those are the people that come really close to getting a trash can thrown at them. )
Later, I'm helping a friend sell his grandmother's furniture.  An hour away.  In the city.  I'm mostly just needed to lift the sofa, but I might get a cheeseburger out of it, so we'll see.  ::)

Orange ?   National Bullying Prevention wearing ORANGE on Unity Day, October 25, 2017

it's also Anti Gun Violence Day on June 2...wearing of the orange.  I had to look these up. BTW

Goddess Chandraghanta wears orange on the For 9 Days Of Navratri   :-\

Pink is for "SAVE THE TA TA's Day   :D

Green -  for St. Patties Day
Blue  -  for World Autism Awareness Day
Red - for National Wear Red Day, to raise awareness for cardiovascular disease in women.
Purple -  to raise awareness about domestic abuse ,
Purple is  also awareness about epilepsy,  On March 26th annually,  and I think another in the rainbow for Bullying.

Yeah ! I know , it's early, I'm up , day off  and aside from drinking my coffee ....not much happening .....yet !

Snow turned into sleet/freezing rain. Was a mess for awhile. it was more of a grainy coating instead of a smooth sheet, though. Stayed in just the same :-\ ::)

Guess wearing orange on St Paddy's could be considered bullying.   ;D

99.5% of the green wearers don't understand which means they don't deserve to wear green. ;)

Morning all.

I did get a cheeseburger yesterday!  I also got to take out trash... over 500 pounds of trash.

Today I don't have anything on the calendar.  It's opening day of youth turkey season, but I haven't qualified for that since... 2011 I think.

Morning all.

Rain has returned.  The heaviest rain all day, naturally, happened during my evening run.  :-\  I expected that, but it wasn't any less cold.

Family is headed off to the city for church, while I've been elected to stay home and watch the canine version of Houdini.  Want to guess who's giving lessons in rabbit hunting to a Labrador?
She's still pretty gun shy, so I'm working on her with an air gun to start off with.
