Ruger SS CMD
« on: February 21, 2017, 08:35:09 PM »
Just bought a Ruger 'Enhanced' SS CMD .45 ACP, my first ever Commander-sized 1911! These seem to be hard to come by on both sides of the border. Might be an even better carry gun than my M19 snubs, IF we had CCW laws.

I got it unfired, NIB for much less than the MRSP. "Enhanced" means it has a Novak adjustable rear sight, day-glo front sight, extended mag release, tight slide to frame fit, dark laminate grips and a four lb. trigger. My blued 5" R1 came with a lighter pull than that right out of the box, better than my '70 Series Gold Cup.

All the controls are stainless, but I may switch them for the black controls on one of my wife's SS R1s as I like the contrast. We'll see when it arrives.

I've been warned to expect a little more recoil than with a 5" 1911, but I'm sure I'll develop a load to make IDPA power factor with both 200 and 230 gr bullets.

Really looking forward to it.
