Hello SSS,

I'm looking for information on my Spencer Rifle # 3780.

Two Flints, thank you for the unit issue information. Thanks also for posting the photos I sent you.

One of the photos shows what the seller of the gun thought was an inspector's mark (I zoomed in to show it better) which appears to be "AP" or maybe "AD". Do you think he is right? If so, is it a common mark?

It would be great if you posted photos of your Spencer Rifle. 

I checked on your Spencer Rifle serial # 3780.  Best "guestimation" I can give you is that it may have been issued to the 6th Independent Company of Ohio Volunteer Sharpshooters in 1863 - no day or month listed.
